About me

Hi, I am Raj Mehta, I graduated as a Chemical Engineer from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT, Nagpur, India). Post that, I worked as a Process Engineer in Praj Industries Limited, Pune. Following it I graduated from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands with a Master's degree in Chemical and process Technology. Presently, I work as a Pilot plant technologist at Technoforce Solutions B.V., The Netherlands.

•  Mission: To develop a creative process engineering platform of videos, articles and spreadsheets based on the real life experiences
•  Vision: Turning blog into an interactive website which will act as a source of knowledge to students, professors and industrial experts.
•  Objective: To explain the chemical engineering in a more clear, concise and easy to understand manner with the help of drawings, images and videos.

I hope this blog helps you to understand the chemical engineering fundamentals in a very clear way. 1. There are many free process software available to learn or for preliminary design. Request not to go for crack or non copyright version as they violate laws and also spoil reputation

  14. Hello Raj,

I appreciate the initiative, thank you very much for the discussions. Can you please discuss about the importance of LMTD in Heat exchangers. What is the necessity of it and how it helps to overcome the faults in the calculation. Thanks in advance.

  15. Rah¿j. P Mehta:
I see your information very quick, It is very impresive and well done all the information,
I am Mechanical Engineer (Mexico) as Process Engineering at Delphi Automotive Systems(Juarez, Mexico), and over the last 10 years I used several machinery that you describes similar that you show up.
I recommend focus in phases-state using models based in viscometers test trial-error, experiements, that will help you to gain a close approach about next your theorical data. That I saw in process machinery with 5 variables are very often off of the calculation, due the complexity of the results.
Hope helps my advice based in my experience in process chemical machinery that Im responsible thru 10 years.
I would like also to earn a Master Degree....now Im excited to follow your example.

    1. Get the basics strong.
All the courses in undergraduate studies are important, its hard to highlight the importance and superiority of one subject over the other.

    1. Hey Piyush!
Thank you for your kind words. I am glad it helped you :).
Asa matter of fact I am working on separation related processes, but the field is vast in its resources and applicability in almost every industry, which will definitely take me quite some time to put things together to ease out the learning process for readers like you. If you have any suggestion or want to extend an helping hand in developing these articles, you are more than welcome :). You can shoot a mail to chemicalfiles@gmail.com and we can take it forward form there.
